Yeah you had to disable call waiting when you dialed out or that would happen. Or when your mom picked up the phone your carrier would drop connection. Good ol' days 👀

And if you wanted to tether your phone you couldn't just use a Wi-Fi hotspot like now you had to set up PPP

Or dial into a BBS that supported SLIP then connect your Winsock through that 👀
