Nicely put and I can identify with a lot of what you’ve written, especially how the media distorts and governments twist. I wasn’t born in the UK but my mother is full British and I’ve lived in the UK / London most of my life. I’ve experienced the full spectrum from lovely friendly Brits to intolerant racist and violent bigots (from on all sides). But like you, I believe in free speech. But that speech is simply better when it’s rooted in broad experience and perspectives, as well as peace and love.
