Best piece of advice my dad ever gave me about work was this:

If you don't like what you're doing, quit. Go find something you enjoy doing. If you don't like your job, you'll carry that burden with you and you'll be miserable every day. If you enjoy what you do, you'll be more inclined to give a days work for a days pay.
