Pool mining is probably better for small miners as there is less variance so much certainty of a payout. Risk Averse

Solo mining has much less uncertainty of payout but if you do get a payout it’s a certainly worth it. Risk Taker

It depends if you want small, predictable payouts or a lottery chance at the block reward.

Pool is wasting water, solo is better 😜
