Been using ente.io as a Google photos alternative, very happy so far. Paid the yearly subscription with lightning. They should be on Nostr, even better if the account login could be with a nostr account.

No, just mostly storage. Mobile sync to their cloud, they have a nice mobile app, works very well very smooth. Your photos are encrypted. They also have a desktop app that helps you import photos in bulk to the app. You can try it free.
