Nostur has the feature set I want/need. Something about the UI feels weird though and I can't put my finger on it. Maybe I just need more reps put in.

Its feature set is fantastic. For me there are a couple of changes that would make it my daily driver:

1) a quicker way to dismiss notification count

2) ability to turn off notifications for reactions

3) manual pull down to refresh home feed

4) navigation buttons at the bottom need to always return you to the primary view for that button.

#4 is the biggest one for me. For instance, if I’m on the notifications tab and I tap on a post to view it, when I tap the notification button again it should return me back to the notifications screen. Same with home button. Search button.

I'd also like it if I held down on the arrow on the main feed that it would jump all the way to the top.

I think I realized what's doing it. I'd like to be able to separate original posts and replies into separate feeds

I’ve found that you can tap the little Nostur icon at the top to scroll on the way to the top. And if you long press on the “Following” feed you have the option to view or hide replies.

Looks like I have to keep toggling "hide replies" off again when I return to the app. I think Damus' approach with a Posts feed next to a Posts & Replies feed is my favorite approach.
