Once an employee got out of line and I had to fix him. This was a construction job.

Short story.

I was fired. My boss told me, "Why did you have to do this in front of the safety guy? No one would have seen it, otherwise. I'm going to have to let you go."

2 years later the company sent me a letter that I was needed for another job and my blacklisting was cancelled.
