When Core 30 drops, that’ll be the beginning of the end of plebs running the network. Block weight will balloon, and our 2tb drives will be useless.

Obviously this is not a big deal for those sitting on tens or hundreds of coins. But, what about us plebs with less than one coin? I can’t afford to build a new server with a 16TB HDD. Who knows how long that hardware will even last.

Obviously nobody can predict the future. But, if you give people a huge ass trash can, you’re essentially encouraging them to dump their shit.

OP return is not included in the block weight limit. So, I am of the opinion that we are about to open the flood gates for any retard to post whatever bullshit they want to the bitcoin blockchain forever.

The Bitcoin network needs as many node runners as possible. It’s about to be an elitist privilege. This is against the Bitcoin ethos.

They can already do this though. If they are using a tool to craft these transactions then its not hard for them to submit it to a miner directly.

The OP Return limit is being raised from 40 to 200,000 bytes.

Yes, but obviously this is a headache. Only a few will actually go through this process. If we make it much, much easier, we are encouraging abuse.
