Only nerds that bother to learn the tools deserve freedom. Fuck mass adoption.

I think there is an important distinction.

Just have access to bitcoins price movements offers you zero freedom.

Being able to control your money on your terms. That's freedom in this application.

If mass adoption happens and everyone is using a custodian.

We have only recreated the system we are in of custodians.

And asking permission.

You have you ask yourself, not just you, but everyone should ask themselves.

What are you here for?

To pump your bags.

Or see a voluntary monetary system actually bring us out from under the thumb of daddy gubberment.

Custodians will play a role in all this, that's is unavoidable.

Also another thing.

Why is it that everyone just wants stuff done for them.

Shit takes hard work, hundreds of hours of learning to feel comfortable and confident with bitcoin

People show up and act like they don't need to get educated on it

There is so much more information available now, guides walkthroughs, on how to self custody your corn.

'It's hard' is a poor excuse, it's not hard. That person is just lazy.

Tldr: what's the point of mass adoption of we just recreate the system we are already in.

Exactly this! And if we wouldn’t be promoting VCs bags with custodial and KYC solution we would definitely had more P2P solutions and on-ramps than we have now! It will not be like this forever so I’m optimistic that those who really cares about freedom and sovereignty will build better 😉

Those who can, do. Those who can't, complain.

I complain. 😅

Every person situation is different.

That includes devs.

We are lucky that there have been enough people, for as long as they have, who opted to work on Bitcoin and Bitcoin adjacent things out of interest or just wanting to contribute.

We all live in this world where our unit of currency doesn't go as far as it did, days, weeks or years ago.

So to say that devs shouldn't work on things where VC money is, is easy to say in practice. But I'm not a dev who has a family to feed,

I'm thankful for all the devs whether funded or not, who work on things that make Bitcoin more secure or more accessible to the world.

I don't use liquid, I don't use ecash, I don't use custodial services.

But I see all these things as tools in a tool belt. Not every construction project requires the jackhammer ya know.

Just cause I don't use it, doesn't mean it might not have value to someone somewhere else. I just always try to point out the tradeoffs of these things, thats what's important. Trying to have information readily available in a digestible manner for users.

LN is dope for its use case. But nothing hits quite like an on chain tx.
