Growing up my family had a male holly of some kind to pollinate our decorative female Nellie Stevens holly. Those flowers on that male holly smelled amazing, like apples. I wish I knew what kind it was because most other holly flowers smell nothing like that, kind of a faint wine like smell that isnβt as pleasant as that sounds.
It was also a huge tree, like 30β tall or more, just like the female holly.
