I think it falls on Coinbase. Imperative that they safeguard client data.

But how often these clients been told - Not your keys : not your coin ! ... Who can really safeguard such clients ? I mean , people clearly have nostr but they still want to share all their life (with pics and vids) with Meta AI ? Who would you blame ! Meta or the people ?

I think I understand where you’re coming from but here’s how I see it: individuals are responsible for protecting their own funds — not your keys, not your coins, totally agree. But when it comes to client data, that’s on the institution. If a company chooses to collect personal info, they also take on the responsibility of keeping it safe

Sure . ..they do .. and they will be dealt with it through whatever law covers that .. which they will fight in the courts :-) .. but the clear and immmdediate penalty comes in the stock market ..

It just doesn't mean I need to sympthise with users .. don't get me wrong .. I like Coinbase (for the ease) and I have my own account with them .. But I am well aware of consequences .. I am not crying out loud to help me .. cuz I own my deets :-) I know if I prioritize "ease" for the "right" ..someday I need to pay for it ..
