Usb connection is not perfect, but effective.
You only connect when you want to transact.

Trezor T has slot for microsd? What is that one for?
Not 100% sure on trezor t.
But for cold card which I use, you can have an air gap meaning you never plug your CC into the computer. You can sign transactions via the micro sd.
