For me that word conjures comparisons to a cult. I am not presuming anything about you other than what you’ve said. My point is just that its code and incentive system give it verifiable properties that have produced over a decade of data that can be used to extrapolate its continued existence and growth. Call that belief if you like, I’d rather call it an understanding.

Understanding something and believing in something are two totally different things. No one is disputing the verifiable properties that Bitcoin has. But just because something is verifiable does not automatically mean it will remain that way for infinity. Believing in something just means that you trust and have faith in it to succeed. Nothing is guaranteed so it's ironic that you would bring up comparisons to a cult because that's what guarantees conjure.
