Idk why battery powered monitors have to be so expensive.

It's always cheaper just to buy a slightly used laptop.

Because it is asus. On aliexpress there would be cheaper ones

With a battery? Hard to find one I can trust with good reviews.

Ahhh. Then if you can spend few hours setting it up you can get a normal external display and a li ion hobby battery pack with barrel jack (or with whatever connector to barrel jack addapter) and you're good to go.

Yeah I've got a cheap usb c monitor but it's not bright enough, speakers are bad and it's clunky.

I feel like if it had a built I'm battery it would solve most of my problems.

For just a regular portable monitor Raspberry PI probably makes one of the best ones right now for 100$.

The brightness depends on how many nits the panel is made for and the input voltage. If the nits are not enough for wherever you want to use it it wouldn't be bright enough. If the nits are enough but the provided voltage isn't enough then it also wouldn't be as bright. I suggest you check wether or not the power supply (the power bank or brick) provides enough power to the display.
