I know that 1000 sats per dollar = a $100,000 Bitcoin and 100 sats per dollar = a $1,000,000 Bitcoin. But when I look at this graph I can’t compute what the price of a coin would be at 800 sats per dollar or 300. It falls apart in my head!

Could someone better than me at math give a formula to feed the calculator for this?

forget to add #asknostr

For every 100 grand just knock 100 off the sats!! 200k is 900 sats, 300k is 800 etc etc..

I don’t think the price will be all the way up to 200K at 900 SPD, that’s only 45 less sats than it is now

Bumping to #asknostr again because this question is keeping me from sleeping

I think you want (1 / sats per dollar)*100,000,000

Digit would have been able to answer that in 10 seconds but I'm so bad at math it took me a while to figure out. I never would have answered it if I wasn't trying to do what math I can to be more like her

OH MY GOD YOU’RE RIGHT THANK YOU (AND DIGIT) SO MUCH AND GN!

Sleep well 📈

Do you have a "collected works of Digit" data hoard collated and saved somewhere?

Been trying to get everything I have into one folder, arrange it chronologically, and add explanations of what was happening between me and her, and other details I remember.

So much is gone because she deleted her reddit accounts, and the Discord chats we talk in get purged, and the corporations holding the backups don't let me use whatever fancy indexing and searching tools they have. My progress is also slow because it's painful to work on.

In the wallstreetbets Discord, there's a bot that occasionally interrupts conversations with a random problem of basic arithmetic where the challenge is just to process it, type a number, and hit send as fast as possible. Digit consistently won pretty much every blip if it happened while she was chatting

I still didn't realize until later it could be simplified to = 100,000,000 / sats per dollar

don’t feel bad, math escapes me

When you're dealing with Satoshis per dollar, the price of Bitcoin can be calculated using the formula:

Bitcoin Price

=

100

,

000

,

000

satoshis per Bitcoin

satoshis per dollar

Bitcoin Price=

satoshis per dollar

100,000,000satoshis per Bitcoin

Example 1: 800 sats per dollar

To calculate the Bitcoin price when 1 dollar equals 800 sats:

Bitcoin Price

=

100

,

000

,

000

800

=

125

,

000

USD per Bitcoin

Bitcoin Price=

800

100,000,000

=125,000USD per Bitcoin

Example 2: 300 sats per dollar

To calculate the Bitcoin price when 1 dollar equals 300 sats:

Bitcoin Price

=

100

,

000

,

000

300

=

333

,

333.33

USD per Bitcoin

Bitcoin Price=

300

100,000,000

=333,333.33USD per Bitcoin

So for any given number of sats per dollar, you just divide the total number of Satoshis in a Bitcoin (100,000,000) by the number of Satoshis per dollar to get the price of Bitcoin in USD.

In summary, the formula you can use is:

Bitcoin Price

=

100

,

000

,

000

Sats per Dollar

Bitcoin Price=

Sats per Dollar

100,000,000
