Anyone have any tips on scaling poor quality web streams with #mpv ?

YLE (Finnish broadcaster) serves 6000kbps 1080p streams, but they have issues with compression artifacts (h264) and blockiness when using a good, sharp scaler. The issues on the streams are obvious on wide views like football fields.

Are there any good soft scalers to deal with these types of issues? Or post processing filters? All information I seem to find are for good quality content and max sharpness.

- using the proprietary nvidia upscaling model which is available in the windows driver and can be used from vlc or browsers.

- There are other proprietary upscalers, idk how good they are and if they support your OS

- if its anime content, certain ML models are available which can upscale quite good

maybe there is a forth option, since there was that one nvidia leak, the model actually could be force open sourced now :blobcatpirate:
