Most people I know in that time said "I'm fed up with Windows errors on my laptop, and now I'm going to have them on my phone too?"

Windows is a bloated buggy security dumpster fire of an OS, regardless of which platform you run it on. Anyone that doesn't recognize that shouldn't be the CEO of a tech company.
