Reasons atheism makes no sense:

1. You are a conscious being thinking and feeling right now. Why would you assume there was no conscious being thinking and feeling at the time of The Big Bang as well?

2. The second law of thermodynamics states that energy and matter are neither created nor destroyed, but merely transformed from one form to another. Therefore, why would you assume consciousness disappears entirely when someone dies, rather than simply be transformed?

3. There are no separate things or events. It’s all one happening. Your delusion that you are just poor little me encased in a bag of skin is rendered absurd once you take the simple steps of describing your actions which are intertwined with your environment, which itself extends to the entire cosmos.

Both Atheism and theism doesn't make sense and only at the margins can we make sense of the universe in either belief. Me personally I think we can conclude there has to be a higher dimension given what we know about physics and entropy. To me: there being a God is more probabilistic than there isn't a God in the most basic of definitions of God.

Agreed, though I would consider what you are describing to be theism.

Me too I'm a theist

🤝

You’re implying that atheists hold certain believes which is incorrect. Unlike theism you don’t need to believe any certain dogma. None of your points are about a belief in a god which is about the only thing an atheist doesn’t believe in.

I think there is much to be learned from science, philosophy and religion but do not subscribe to one type of thinking and think of consciousness in a philosophical way but I am definitely not a theist. If anything I am an atheist if it needs to be labeled.

Theism is not incompatible with science, though granted it has been portrayed as such.

Not saying it is but to be a theist you have a more structured believe system where as in atheism there is none.

It is structured by its denial of the most obvious truth of all, that you are it (tat tvam asi).

The ignorant man knows all the wise man knows he doesn’t know all.

I don’t like the arrogance of this type of theism. It’s bothersome to me, I’d rather not participate. Have fun with your god.

God be with you.

The ALL is mind the universe is mental.

yeah exactly.

nothing hes saying has anything to do with atheism.

Bitcoin: don’t trust verify

Theism: trust us we know god (our specific definition) is the only truth!

As if "all phenomena is one happening" means is theist 🙄

hes just playing around with definitions of things.

You can verify the existence of God yourself by looking inward. No trust needed.

Define god? There is part of the whole problem of these debates most ppl don’t even have the same definition of “god”. Each religion has their own god or gods so which god are you referring to?

he wont.

most people don't call what he's talking about "God."

but hes gotta be part of the maxi crowd and they're all "theist"

its a tough tightrope to walk 👀

You are also implying I’ve never looked inward? 😂 again with this arrogance.

Imagine if we verified block “by looking inward”

He's not wrong.

Just nobody usually calls it "God"

Not even a hammy Zen performance artist like Watts

Which is interesting in itself because Buddhism is one of the only religions without a god making it arguably atheist.

Alan is a Zen interpreter for normies.

and this dude is interpreting Alan.

so it's a game of telephone thats got nothing to do with Buddhism lol

Fair point.

I’m a fan of hermetic philosophy myself specifically the Kybalion. Those principles resonate with me.

1. Why assume there was? Assumptions are silly in this context. Current performance is not indicative of future results and all...

2. When an atomic bomb goes off, there is no uranium there anymore, it's transformed, but there are no longer any of uranium's properties to be found. They don't exist in that form and have transformed into heat, light etc.

3. So what does that have to do with any god thing you come up with? Its all connected, but there's nothing supernatural about it. The dulusion is that you need a god for reality to exist.

I get that its very human to create gods, but every civilization comes up with a different version and they are not compatible with each other.

If I'm picking a God, its our Sun. It does not give a shit, just like bitcoin, but its properties allow for all the wonder of life here.

The concept of free will exists in your ability to forget all knowing & to believe what you choose.

God (the all the is) will support you in your beliefs unconditionally. If you believe that there is no God, then that is what you'll experience. You'll also experience the pain of disconnecting from your higher self.

When we come into this realm, we pretend that we know nothing. We forget our knowing so that we may experience discovering it all again. I believe our purpose here is to remember that we are all God & to experience that belief. It's like we're here playing a game of "warmer, colder" with our souls as we experience various aspects of ourselves.

I see atheism as a step towards remembering your own divinity. It's a useful but also unnecessary step in our journey here. I see the worshipping of entities as a trap that has plagued our human experience for a long time. Atheism is the dualistic opposite of this divine worship, which ironically leads to the worship of that which is material (Maya). The middle path involves us surrendering to our higher selves, the God in each of us.

💚🫂

talk about Maya...

Maya is the idea that the material reality that we find ourselves in exists only in our consciousness.

Maya is synonymous with illusion.

yeah i know... so are your fantasies.

im just yanking your chain a bit ...

✌️

But you're also correct.

I'm not immune to Maya.
