Have you already set up the site-associations file for deep linking?

yup it actually works in some apps (telegram, etc). Not sure why it’s not working on some places yet.

A hunch: some services don’t follow redirects when fetching metadata, they stop at the first hop.

You could set up a CNAME instead, or link directly to snort.social and it may work 🀷

I don't think this is how it works. I set up a site association so any time iOS sees a https://damus.io/{npub,note}* click it should pass it to a handler within damus. Why some links don't obey this is still a mystery to me.

Ohhh I totally misunderstood, I thought this was about URL previews.

For deep links I’ve noticed iOS can just be a pedantic about where you’re clicking the link.

What usually works for me, at least when testing, is pasting the link in Notes then tapping it from there.

Deep/universal links have not worked on twitter for years. I think this is by design to keep you inside the app - opens inapp web browser instead.

This is a good point. I think you might not take Twitter as a reference for your tests. I usually test deeplinks / universal links from Notes

Yeah, it’s kind of a black box but *usually* it starts working at some point
