Excellent use case! No need for as much weight efficiency as with other transport applications, nor as space efficient. Plus, you'd be literally swimming in the needed coolant. Wake heat would be less of an issue than a stationary power plant's waste heat to local waters because of ever changing location and vast volume.

That's right! And nuclear subs too. I forgot about that. The innovation would be commercial use and not military, which means it needs to be yet more reliable/low maintenance and cost efficient.

I hope our battery tech makes massive gains. We have plenty of energy available, we need to be able to store it better.

Robots and 3D printers should be manufacturing on site or close to final destination. Shipping across the planet is last century thinking.
