Finished the SHTF fuel storage project. 12 five gallon metal NATO jerry cans with a number for each month painted on the side.

Every month I will dump the corresponding gas can into my vehicle and refill the can next time I fill up at the gas station.

They’re all secured by a 30’ long 3/8” bike lock cable secured to my garage structure and each gas can has its own padlock for convenience and security both.

Love it. I can't move 5 gallon ones, so I have been picking up the 2.5 gallon jerry cans. Congrats on getting this done.

what is next?

Propagating red mulberry. Did some prep work tonight while I was putting my garden salad together.

Tomorrow I’m gonna remulch the 4’x8’ raised bed garden, hose out a bunch of 3 gallon ice cream buckets that had been used for potatoes previously, and then fill them with about 6” of a mix of 1/3 sphagnum peat moss, 1/3 vermiculite, and 1/3 perlite.

Once that’s done I’ll be ready to start taking cuttings.

From there, it’ll take 4-6 weeks to get the cuttings to root, at which point they’ll be ready to transplant. I’m gonna plant some at my home and at the SHTF bug out property.

Wow I hope it is same combination for all of the locks.

Yep. Makes life easy that way.
