one of the loveliest, most obscure little books i own. i read it over 20 years ago, and found a first edition in a local bookstore earlier this year. a perfect exercise in allegory, the story itself is also gentle and satisfying. if you have never heard of it, or never read it - i absolutely recommend you do.
