I found out about #btc pre-pizza day. I think it was still 2009 could’ve been early 2010. It was in San Francisco at a sushi restaurant on Church St. One guy mentioned bitcoin. Then another guy got really excited he knew what it was and I think a 3rd guy might have also known what it was before the dinner. I recall them saying it was the first time any of them had met someone in person who knew about bitcoin. It was a large group of people maybe 20ish people. I happened to sit across from them. I love when people are curious and excited about a topic. So I naturally asked questions and they were like let’s tell her all about it. I remember they were still trying to figure how they could spend it. A guy did offer if I covered the cost of their meal in fiat they would pay me in bitcoin. (If I had been less broke, maybe pizza day would’ve been sushi day.) I can only remember one person for sure who was there. She can’t remember who those guys were any better than I can. It would be interesting to me if I could somehow figure it out. So if this sounds familiar to any early bitcoiners, let me know. If you know any early bitcoiners you want to pass this along to I would appreciate it. 🧡

I’ve heard about that story. Smart restaurant owner.
My experience the sushi restaurant was on Church St. near Market St. in San Francisco near where Aardvark Books and what was that American restaurant that was right there. 🤔 Blanking on the name. No clue what that sushi restaurant was called. It wasn’t the one with boats. Or the really bad one a block down and across the street. It was the sushi restaurant closest to Market St. like across from Sparky’s Diner. San Francisco circa 2009-2010. Totally impromptu meeting. One of those dinners where one friend invites someone and on and on until it’s a weird smorgasbord of people gathered together. Basically a 6 degrees of separation dinner.
Now I’ve made myself want sushi
