Putin claims to be saving Russian speaking Ukrainians... Meanwhile in the real world, this Russian speaking Ukrainian soldier was able to speak Russian so perfectly he fooled two Russians into thinking he was one of them. Then he shot them at point blank range.

"Ending" the war is high time preference thinking. The ability of Russia to fight needs to be eliminated permanently. Otherwise they'll just rearm and invade again. As they have done over and over before.
Countries are sovereign. You can't simply "demilitarize" them. What you can do is making it too risky and expensive to attack you.
Ukraine's drone campaign against the Russian economy is "simple". But it is making good progress to demilitarize Russia and can make a lot more progress with time and support.
