People might burn me for this, but you can onboard on custodial lightning before nudging your entire circle to non-custodial and even run your own nodes, creating rings of trade (channels between the people you interact with and sats flow within your micro system without touching anyone else).

So the idea is that there are different layers, technological but also socially. 'Small blocks' make it relatively financially still accessible to run your own node. But even that can be a step way further down the road.

A money can only exist if it retains it's value (SoV) otherwise it doesn't make sense to use it as Means of Exchange.
