IPFS has had a lot of hype, but there are significant drawbacks to it. I don't know specifics, but I think they have a hard time getting the block size (smallest possible amount of transfer) right.

The other downside is that you have to run a server locally, but I'm sure a genius will figure out how to just do that in the browser like everything else.

They're on the right track, but I imagine if it gains traction that it will turn into another RIAA/MPAA witch hunt to effectively kill it.

the dht seems too complicated for ipfs, what do you think of holepunch? and what about a dht for finding npubs and relays on nostr?
