I'm not talking about most men, about Good men. Are you talking about pre-industrial age?

If Women didn't have to work and married a good man, they probably would want to bear children and be a homemaker. Do you think those are honored and important roles to fill?

No, after the industrial revolution. Women's equality movements emerged after the industrial revolution, and these movements were the beginning of women's efforts to gain equal rights with men.
