If you think government should tax, print money and seize Bitcoin for a "strategic reserve" you're definitely a commie and there are a LOT here on nostr

Using the government to steal from others to enrich a small group selected by government is literally how communism works

The capitalist embrace of Bitcoin would be to have no capital gains and no reporting requirements and no government theft to enrich itself

The dream of communism is alive and well in bitcoin

Yeah. That's not how government works though. And we all know that. It's all about control. And 98% of bitcoiners welcomed it in with open arms.

Told everyone long ago we shouldn't have even let the ETF through...

Turns out, it's not dismantling power structures that fuck us over, it's now going to help keep them in place.

How would a community of bitcoiners stop normi investors from creating and buying ETFs?

It may keep structures in place a little longer but this will allow more people to learn how money works and achieve escape velocity rather than “go to rape and pillage. Go directly to rape and pillage.”

Government’s entire model is literally based on mass-theft. If you’re anti-theft, you’re anti-government.

That's me 😁

Me too. No passes for these tyrannical fucks.

Counterpoint:

They are going to tax, print, and steal Bitcoin anyways. I'd rather them buy Bitcoin or gold for that matter with said monies to at least have a future stockpile of a solid asset than on bombing a sovereign country.

They will use that asset to bomb even more countries

I would rather then tax and steal much much less and let citizens stack way more

I would too, but they aren't going to do that, ever.

Hi bro 🤟🏴‍☠️😉 Exactly. If your first instinct is to turn Bitcoin into a government piggy bank, you’ve misunderstood the entire point of it. Bitcoin wasn’t created so the state could confiscate harder it was built to make that impossible.

I think there are different groups of Bitcoiners who get lumped together when it comes to the SBR, even though they’re actually quite different.

First, there are those who cheer for the government to seize, print, or tax in order to buy Bitcoin, mostly because they want their fiat bags pumped. In my view, they’re more fiat maxis than actual Bitcoiners.

Then there are the patriotic types who see this as the U.S. taking a step in what they perceive to be the right direction. I’d call them American Bitcoiners.

Finally, there are those excited to see the game theory play out. It might look like they’re cheering for the government, but really, they’re just cheering for the game theory itself. I’d consider them neutral Bitcoiners, and that’s where I sit, at least for now.

I’m probably forgetting a few other factions, but I find these three often get lumped together when people talk about the SBR

Good points. I'm probably the anarchist bitcoiner who doesn't like to see states get richer

I'm probably closer to monarchism. Might be why I get along with anarchists and patriots well. I'm the fence sitter 😂
