What are the best, most affordable small towns / communities near the ocean to raise a family in the U.S.?

That’s a tough one. I think your best bet would be something along the Oregon coast like seaside or the like. Those old towns are a bit run down and so may be cheaper to buy / rent a domicile. Not sure though. Worth looking into.
