It's interesting to see how big companies like YouTube, Reddit, Stack Overflow, Twitter, independent blogs/forums, and others are responding to the use of user-generated content for AI training data. ChatGPT is currently leading the way and causing some of these companies to take drastic measures, such as blocking access to AI bots or requesting the disabling of Adblock. (1/2)

While I understand that servers & staff require money, it's important to note that OpenAI will not be providing data for free forever. Eventually, they too, will require payment. AI companies have received billions in investments, and as a result, investors will expect a return on their investment. This goes against the original idea of the open web, which was to provide access to information for all. At least Wikipedia is free for now :) I'm not too fond of this future. What do you think? (2/2)
