Have you tried gamifying it? nostr:npub1xtscya34g58tk0z605fvr788k263gsu6cy9x0mhnm87echrgufzsevkk5s used habitica for a while and there was a noticeable uptick in the frequency of the recycling being taken down :) haha. But then #nostr came along and the rest is history so I understand your dilemma.
