Is #[0] blurring images from people you don’t follow censorship or moderation? If it’s not censorship, then where does censorship end and moderation begin?

I’d say no. It’s giving the user the choice over what images they want to see. The content isn’t really suppressed or censored in the case of blurred images, imo

It’s also not blurring certain types of images or certain individuals images based on any centralized decision making. It’s a general catch-all that makes interaction a mutually-agreed-upon experience

You can go to appearance settings in #damus, and set always show images.

Blurring images from profiles you don’t follow is a precautionary artifact from the 🚿 girl, and 🍆 epoch.

Didn’t know you could do that!

Keep bringing the questions. #damus team is ready 🫡

That’s a great point. No centralized decision, unlike Bluesky’s auto moderation.

I'm not a Damus user, but I think whether or not to blur images should be up to the user. I'm all for giving users as much freedom and customizability as possible. No nanny States and no nanny #Nostr apps!

Good point, you have the option, but the default is on, I think.

They simply try to minimize load I believe. You can switch blurring off in settings

I think the fact that we have the option is good enough. Images in reposts from followed should not be blurred.
