Keet and an old phone work pretty well as a smoker temp monitor. Not as good as buying the dedicated networked thermometer, but passable for available equipment.

How are you getting the data into keet?
My home's WiFi. The old phone is connected to WiFi, my laptop upstairs is also on WiFi. In a few minutes, I'll report back on the results from the office WiFi.
Also worth noting, my laptop is on a VPN, and it still works.
Sorry I mean how is your old phone reading a thermometer?
It's not. I'm just using the camera to check the ambient temp periodically instead of going outside.
Probably should just go get some sun.
