That is a good catch. I never saw that before.

Both J.R.R. Tolkein and C.S. Lewis were Christians and friends and they put a lot of analogies from the Bible into their fiction. Tolkein was also the premier expert on Beowulf, which you see a lot of in "The Hobbit".
