Oh interesting. I’ve been getting zap notifications in Primal/Nostur but maybe I should check if it’s only doing it part of the time.

It stopped working for me a few weeks ago, so I switched to Primal and I just switched to WoS today cause I want to test out their wallet more

Good to know. I’m testing Rizful for a couple weeks so I’m interested to see if that issue pops up for me.

Are you using WoS “self custodial” for receiving zaps? It didn’t seem to support zap receipts when I tried it several weeks ago.

I just switched today and it doesn’t seem to be broadcasting zap receipts either. Switching back to primal.

😂🫡 Ugh… I was hoping they’d added it. lol

We've actually done a TON of work to be sure that zapping Rizful users always results in the generation and broadcast of a spec-compliant zap receipt. For example, I just zapped you a few seconds ago, and you can see that the zap receipt was successfully created and broadcasted -- see here:

So far Rizful has been solid for me. I’ve had it as my receive wallet for 4 days now and as best I can tell, it’s shown all my incoming zaps properly in my notifications and on my notes.

Any chance it could show the zap info in the Rizful web wallet? When I look at my transactions there it would be cool to see which note was zapped, maybe by showing the associated note ID.

Either way, it’s been great so far in my testing.

If you use Rizful via NWC, for example with Damus, you'll see the Nostr identity of Nostr profiles that zap you. But yes, that's a good point, we should show it in the web interface also. I'm going to add that to the development queue.

Nice, that would be great! My next test will be to try it more clients. So far the only nostr client I’ve connected it to for sending is Nostur on iOS, and it works great, but Nostur doesn’t have a UI for wallet/transaction history.

what are zap receipts?

That’s the events that show up on notes and in your notifications that documents the zap you received

You have no idea who zapped you and what they zapped without the zap receipt

sats just show up in your wallet then without any details?

Yeah. Without the zap receipt, you just receive a normal lightning payment. There’s no way to know who sent a normal lightning payment which is a feature not a bug.

Oh, sorry, which wallet was not generating zap receipts? Wallet of Satoshi? Rizful does really comprensive monitoring to ensure we are always generating and broadcasting zap receipts.

Both. I was receiving receipts when I first started using Rizful and then at some point they stopped working. I didn’t check relays for the receipts, but they were not showing in my notifications on Damus, Primal, or Jumble.

Thanks for the report. I just took a look at Damus myself, and I am seeing proper notifications for inbound zaps. You can see "BitBees" for example in the screenshot below....

Some notes:

1. If you aren't seeing proper notifications like this for INBOUND zaps via NWC, I'd very might like to investigate. Would be awesome if you could send me a DM so I could look into it.

2. You'll notice in my screenshot that although INBOUND zaps are showing, OUTBOUND zaps are all showing as "unknown"

2b) nostr:npub19hg5pj5qmd3teumh6ld7drfz49d65sw3n3d5jud8sgz27avkq5dqm7yv9p might know best about this, but my current understanding is that there are none (zero) NWC services which properly show nostr profile data for OUTBOUND zaps.... If I am wrong about this, I would really appreciate if someone could clue me in -- has anyone found a NWC that properly attributes OUTBOUND zaps

2c) I actually have an idea for a way that we could properly provide data for OUTBOUND zaps. It's going to be a complicated to implement but I think I know how to do it.

I didn’t even realize the Damus wallet showed receives. Looks like all my receives show up there. I just didn’t get notifications for them for some reason.

Nice. The notifications that you would get through Damus are out of our hands.... and remember, with Nostr, you are relying on potentially sketchy/unreliably network connection(s) to relays. My strategy is usually to lower my expectations ;)
