The only thing close to that where I live is a blockchain group. They understand what Bitcoin is, but other topics tend to dominate the conversation, which is reasonable given the name of the group.

I could start my own, but...

There's the extremely difficult problem of getting the word out to people who might be curious to learn more. I'm not much of a social person. If I had some social butterfly to get the word out, I'm sure I could come up with content.

Maybe some live demos or something to show basic usage, contrast BTC fees to credit card fees, cite cases like credit card companies attacking Wikileaks, nude models, sex workers, and others. All which make an alternative to pay people online very attractive. Credit card numbers stolen, not with Bitcoin. I could come up with content all day long.

The problem is telling people about bitcoin meetings and convincing people to take time out of their schedule to go. It's an even bigger challenge for people like me who aren't on Facebook, TikTok, Insta, and all the other centralized, big tech social media.
