Horrible. STOP SUGGESTING MUUN TO NEWBIES.

BLUEWALLET.IO is a much better option

You sacrifice the " perceived" difficulty of self custody from the get go to them not have a wallet that will give them way more issues down the road with the wallet being broken in a high fee environment.

Best to have the hurdle be something that can be overcome early and a wallet that just works on the later half of the self custody journey.

Horrible feels like an over reaction.

You're not the first to recommend blue wallet tho. I'll DMOR

horrible is correct you sacrifice easy on boarding for ease of use down the road. in high fee environment muun becomes a shitshow of fees that make using it impossible.

better to have a hurdle at the beginning with key management and a device that work for good than the former

Bad take.

I'm not onboarding them to lightning. In getting them off Coinbase. If you read the full comment I say I will get them a more permanent solution this weekend when I see them in person.

Ease and actually getting them to do it is everything here.

Not a bad take at all its rightfully as such muun is a 2of 2 multisig wallet on base chanun therefore all on chain txs are higher data usage than if used with a better on chain option like samouri or blue wallet. So my comment still stands muun is garbage

Why is Muun broken in a high few environment but Blue Wallet is not? You’ll have the same on-chain fees with both wallets. Care to explain how you meant it?

#[3] care to explain how you meant it? I would like to know

Muun uses 2of 2 multi sig not lightning it gives the illusion of being lightning but uses sub atomic swaps which goes from on chain to lightning this cripples the signing device during high fee environments so if you send a "lightning "tx your actually just sending an on chain tx which just screws you over in the long run

OK. Cheers, mate. So you were actually talking about Lightning. I was confused because unfortunately Blue Wallet doesn't support Lightning anymore, unless you connect to your own LNDHub. So no option for newbies. Only for on-chain wallets.

Breez and Phoenix are both great options

Agree. But all lightning wallets have one or the other disadvantage. If you go from on-chain to lightning Breez and Phoenix are fine. If you send from lightning you need inbound liquidity first as far as I am aware
