Cloth? Wouldn’t it be better than kitchen tissues?
I mean kombucha. Tried it for several months, came to the conclusion that my stomach didn't like me drinking it every day. You can't control bacteria from the scoby or in the kombucha. There is no way to know if you are brewing something good for you or not.
