Criticism of Lightning Network is stupid to say the least. Right now the only way to scale Bitcoin to the entire world population is through Lightning but giving up custody is the compensation to be paid.

Even so, we would be in a much more advantageous position than we are now, since even if we gave up custody and used Lightning banks, the currency could not be counterfeited and we would have solved at least one of the major problems of the Fiat system.

Most people are not aware of the progress Lightning has made.
