I also reject the framing that Cashu is narrowly focused on a niche market. eCash has a very wide range of use cases. Calle gives examples one example in video at 21:20.

thanks for the docs Eric, let me check it out over the weekend. If Cashu plans to tap onto a wide market, then its likely disrupting the usage of bitcoin as it uses tokens - which becomes a catch-22. Also dependent on the market need for privacy. I am a believer that Bitcoin will hit mainstream market when it is used to buy and sell goods and services globally. Optional privacy services can then becomes a thing. I do want to read up a bit more on tokens, pros and cons and the infiltration impact on bitcoin. And especially on Lightning privacy problem in depth. Whether you realise it or not, it's a marketing angle in your pursuit of working hand in hand, and it can be detrimental and backfire.

Thank you for sharing the docs, I appreciate it. Let me follow up with this conversation after I've gone through them all, and if I have more questions. And thank you for tag Paolo, very informative

I think there’s a miscommunication somewhere. An ecash token is just a strin you can redeem for sats. It’s not a token in an ERC 20 sense. You can not call them tokens and just call them a batch of sats.
