Old way:

- Get bank account

- Get invoicing system Xero

- Get payment gateway Stripe

- Connect Xero to Stripe

- Issue invoice and receive card payments less fees

New way:

- Download Strike

- Issue LN invoice

- Get paid in USDt or BTC

The hours of red tape to get through is significant on the old way. In developing nations getting a bank account is near impossible let alone the other steps.

So with a $50 smart phone you can issue invoices to anywhere on earth and receive/make payments without a middle man in USD with asking permission. Probably nothing.
