I took my kids and their friends to one on Thursday - Great Wolf Lodge. Almost as expensive as Disney gor a day. Not enough staffso entry was not monitored, long wait for food and bathrooms and tables were filthy. I’d be ok with never going again.

That being said, the kids had the best time for 11 hours and I was able to relax and listen to podcasts and get quite a bit of work done.

Crowded is not that horrifying as long as you get there early enough to find seats. My kids never waited in line long for the slides.

We take our boys to Great Wolf Lodge when they have a discounted package deal. The hotel and waterpark entry package ends up being a good deal. The nearest for us is between Portland and Seattle and provides a fun escape for a couple of days during the long rainy season.
