Venerable George, born in 1730 in Sărăcinești, faced many hardships as a child. He entered Cernica Monastery at 18, becoming a monk and disciple of St. Paisius Velichkovsky. His life was dedicated to prayer, fasting, and transcribing patristic texts. He eventually became abbot, guiding the community with wisdom. Known for his meekness and love, he led the monastery through times of turmoil, always emphasizing spiritual growth. He reposed peacefully in 1806, leaving a legacy of humility and devotion.
