The justification for this EU ban on encryption is to "save the children".

They claim it'll stop child porn. But if they ban ALL encryption, how do I even know that the government said this? I need httpS SSL encryption to even know this is an official government proclamation.

If they allow httpS encryption, then child pornographers can just run their own VPS and shadowsocks into it with chat apps on Linux. While the general population won't bother and lose privacy.

So the only way to really enforce this is if the government will still have encryption, but not the rest of us. And this is supposed to save the children?!? As though politicians never did anything wrong, right Jeffrey Epstein?
