Indeed. Wouldn’t it still be hosted on a media server somewhere?

My understanding is Nostr just relays information, it doesn’t store large video files anywhere.

Could be only the 3 letter agencies are making forever copies in their databases.

Lol I suppose they will be at some point. We don't have control of or access to the data though, so that isn't really a guarantee either. The closest guarantee you have is to run your own hardware.
