Legally? Then sure, perhaps to some extent. But British values, in principle, should be upheld absolutely, with enforceable and punishable terms. If those terms are not met, you should go. I don’t believe people should be able to impose their previous barbaric lifestyles, philosophies, and beliefs on a country that once upheld traditional values aligned with Western ideals—values that, frankly, no longer seem to exist.
Take Dubai, for example: if you go there and attempt to impose your belief system, you’ll probably get your head cut off. Now, I’m not advocating for extreme solutions like that, but in some ways, I respect their determination to preserve what is rightfully theirs.
That said, I’m curious about what your solution is. You both seem quick to criticize and point out the problem, but you offer no genuine solutions. As for me, I’m British. I was born in Britain, yet my grandfather was an immigrant of Jamaican descent. Does the fact that I have color to my skin mean I’m not truly British?
