2. we have filters to discourage it
3. people work around filters and do more damage than if we just let it happen.

5. shit happens which is less damaging than #3

The speculations are around core being captured by interests which want the relaxation.
and of course following this with all the non relayable shit which get into blocks anyway because of direct miner APIs.

The miner direct APIs are at least doing the sane thing and monitoring what gets added to the permanent chain. This behavior is preferable to a free for all.
