I wish I knew but I’m currently a newbie to the craft. So far from what I’ve seen, the water system seems to depend on combinations of a gas powered machine called a “motobomba”, gravity, and solar powered electricity.
As far as tech, I did ask about that because it seems to be far more efficient communication wise, but it seemed to be a matter of being too costly. It’s been mostly a struggle of keeping costs low until harvests could start covering costs and eventually turning a profit.
So a lot of labor pretty much until we all get more skilled at the craft. It’s kind of wild because it’s essentially 4 people working 10,000+ trees across multiple farms in different locations
I ask cause I put myself through university installing irrigation systems and am now going to do it for my flower farm. It sounds like you have an electric pump and it providing pressure, very rudamentry but way better than walking around with a hose (which I am Currently doing)
I hope to build a water manifold with 4-8 zones with electric solenoids. A simple timer with a solar panel should provide power, this way I can water each zone with less overall pressure and remove me manually operating each valve.
i gotta start setting up an educational feed for this kind of stuff, there's a serious niche here with nostr that I can learn a lot from
#permies is a good tag to follow
