Do you plant the eyes? Or split them in half? šŸ˜…šŸ˜…

Sweet potatoes are different than regular potatoes. You ate supposed to work from slips. They will grow out of the potato and them you plant those after they root. Or that is how I understand it.

Doing the same thing. Grabbed a couple different varieties from Whole Foods!

Nice. I will check local health food stores

I did the method in the first pic a couple yrs ago, and had excellent results. More slips than i could use, so i gave some to friends. I just wish i could find some purple varieties, just for fun.

I am doing the first method as well. Got a white and orange variety. Tempted to order some other varieties off of Amazon but probably should hold back this year

I still want to find a purple variety. Found some regular orange ones today.

Awesome

I’m trying the soil method

We put them in a jar with water. once the shoots start to grow you have to make sure they shoot roots before you pick them of and plant them. Great fun every year and we have great crops from them.

Thanks for the tips.

If you have a health food grocery store near you then I'd go there to look for sweet potatoes. I've found many different varieties that way. The only challenge is that you won't know the growing information (days to maturity).

Good call. I'll check it out.
