What’s the best reasonably priced recording software for podcasts? Just need to eliminate any background noise and maybe layer in intro music or something, nothing major.

REAPER is the best bang-for-buck audio software out there. Open source; I’ve used it to record orchestras and podcasts alike.

Resolve has a pretty good audio section built in as well.

If you want some really feature loaded software, you might have a look at Davinci Resolve. It's free to download and use, and you can even use it for film production...
